Land of legends
During centuries, Brittany’s history was made of mysteries and legends.
In the old times, uncanny characters haunted the nights of Breton people. This mythical Celtic land has always been the scene of extraordinary stories which gave birth to legends. Nowadays, the pays DES ABERS-COTE DES LEGENDES (Brittany, Finistère), abounds of tales which are told during special evenings known as "ballades contées". Some of these legends appear on interpretation boards (Pol chapel, Brignogan-Plages; chapel Penity, Goulven; chapel Landouzen, Le Drennec; fountain Guénolé, St Frégant; chapel Jesus, Tregarantec) or in the cultural magazine Amzer (available in Tourist Information Centres and Town Halls).
